just so its not on my mind anymore

there was once a girl

on the other side of the sea

beautiful and pretty

but we couldn't be

time flies and flitters

and the seasons did change

there still was this girl

on the other side of the sea

through the looking glass he peaked

but there was no love yet to seek

time flew and was fleeting

and now his mind was repeating

love she found in a place elsewhere

there was little left for him but dispair

but when he saw the glimpse

of happiness in her smile

he said to himself

its okay just wait awhile

awhile did pass and awhile did wait

but still the future never chose to set a date.

so there is a girl across the sea
and she brings out the simple poetry in me
